The Supreme Council of Universities held its periodic meeting, headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Minister stressed the need for universities to focus on scientific research and ideas that can be transformed into innovations and applicable products that have an economic impact on society, and to enhance scientific and research cooperation between universities and the industrial community. Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, chaired the meeting of the Council of Private Universities, and during the meeting it was approved The Council decided to establish a private university called “Kemit University”, which includes the following specializations: (Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences), which includes programs in business administration, arts and literature, psychology, pharmacy and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and oral and dental medicine, after completing the necessary legal procedures, provided that the university does not begin to carry out its activities in the colleges before completing its human and material components and proving Its suitability for the proper performance of the educational process and scientific research, and concluding cooperation agreements with international universities with a distinguished reputation. The Council also agreed to add a winter semester in case of necessity for students’ graduation.
