The Minister of Tourism opens the Egyptian pavilion participating in the international tourism exhibition in China

 Open  Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian pavilion participating in the COTTM International Tourism Exhibition, whose activities are currently being held in the Chinese capital, Beijing. Ambassador Assem Hanafi, Egypt’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, and Ambassador Khaled Tharwat, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and General Supervisor of the General Department of International Relations and Agreements at the Ministry, participated in the opening.

  The opening was also attended by Mohamed Salama, Head of the Central Administration of Tourist Offices at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, members of the Egyptian diplomatic mission in Beijing, and Professor Basma Ezzat, responsible for the China file in the General Administration of Foreign Offices at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion. 

 

 

The Minister was keen to tour the Egyptian pavilion and meet the Egyptian exhibitors. He also held an extensive meeting with them during the dinner organized by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion on the sidelines of the exhibition, where the Minister listened to their opinions. And their proposals to increase the flow of tourist traffic coming from the Chinese market, which is one of the targeted tourism markets. He also spoke with them about the Ministry’s current strategy and the efforts made to achieve the Egyptian state’s goals for the tourism sector in Egypt, and ways to strengthen cooperation frameworks to reach the goals. During the exhibition activities, the Minister held several professional meetings with a group of the most important tour operators, tourism and aviation companies in the Chinese market, where they discussed enhancing cooperation mechanisms to develop tourist traffic coming from this targeted tourist market, the expectations for this traffic during the coming period, and ways to jointly promote the Egyptian tourist destination. To introduce Chinese tourists more fully to the diverse and distinct components, patterns, and tourism products of the Egyptian tourist destination.

 

 

 

On the sidelines of participating in the exhibition, the Minister held a number of individual media meetings with representatives of a number of Chinese and international media outlets, including Hainan TV, the Chinese Xinhua News Agency, Peolpe.com.cn, Beijing Daily, Global Times, and CGTN in Arabic. And CCTV CHINA, CMG, and Cairo News Channel, and a press conference organized by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion in the Egyptian Pavilion, and another press conference organized by the Egyptian Embassy in China at the embassy headquarters, attended by a group of representatives of important Chinese media as well as specialists in the field of tourism and a group of Chinese tourism companies, during which Emphasizing the depth of relations between Egypt and China, which witness cooperation in many fields, especially tourism and antiquities, and the developments witnessed by the tourist movement coming from the Chinese market to the Egyptian tourist destination.

 

 

 

There was also talk about the importance of tourism for the economies of countries and achieving communication and interconnection between peoples, and the importance of the Chinese market for Egyptian tourism, in addition to reviewing the various tourism components and products that it enjoys. The Egyptian tourist destination, its tourist attractions, and the various tourist experiences and activities it offers. It was also emphasized that Egypt welcomes all tourists, especially Chinese tourists. The Minister also reviewed the Ministry’s current strategy and objectives, which are based on several axes, including highlighting the diversity of tourism styles and products that characterize the Egyptian tourist destination, to be the first in the world in terms of the diversity of tourism styles and products. 

 

 

 

He also referred to the developments taking place in the tourism sector in Egypt and the development work being done in the tourism infrastructure, the road and transportation network, and the establishment of new tourism projects. Including the new city of El Alamein and the Ras El Hekma project on the northern coast, as the minister stated, during  During the exhibition and press conferences, a promotional film was shown, In Chinese, about the Grand Egyptian Museum and the developments taking place in Egypt, including tourism development, infrastructure, new cities, and major national projects. This film received praise and admiration from all attendees and visitors to the Egyptian Pavilion.

 

 

The area of ​​the Egyptian Pavilion this year is about 100 square metres, and is designed in the form of a contemporary temple and equipped with large display screens to show promotional films highlighting the richness and diversity of tourism products in Egypt. The pavilion includes 14 hotel establishments and an Egyptian tourism company, in addition to EgyptAir.

 

 

Egypt’s participation in this exhibition is an opportunity to meet tourism decision makers. Tour operators and tourism and travel agents in the Chinese market. The exhibition is also attended by many interested visitors, specialists in the field of tourism and travel, and media representatives.
