The Minister of Tourism discusses with his Italian counterpart enhancing cooperation

Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, met with Daniela Garniero Santanchi, Italian Minister of Tourism, who is currently on an official visit to Egypt, at the beginning of his visit to the city of Hurghada.

The meeting came to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation. between Egypt and Italy in the field of tourism and mechanisms to push more incoming tourist traffic to Egypt from Italy during the coming period.

 

This meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying the Italian Minister, and Ambassador Michele Korani, Ambassador of the State of Italy. In Cairo, Amr Al-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and Mohamed Amer, Head of the Central Administration for Hotel Establishments, Shops, and Tourism Activities at the Ministry. 

 

During the meeting, the depth of bilateral relations and close cooperation between Egypt and Italy in the field of tourism was emphasized, and the importance of tourism as a pivotal tool for social and economic development in the two countries.

 

It was also noted that The importance of tourism as a tool for promoting peace among the peoples of the world, as Sherif Fathi stressed his belief that tourism must guarantee the freedom of tourists and provide ease of transportation and movement in different tourist areas.

 

The two ministers stressed The importance of enhancing vocational training and developing skills to increase job opportunities and support the growth of the tourism industry in the two countries.

 

In this context, the two ministers praised the opening that will take place today of the Italian School of Hospitality in the city of Hurghada, which was created in cooperation between "Federatorismo Confindustria" "Italian School of Hospitality", and the "Picalbatros" group, with support from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Italian Ministry of Tourism, and the Embassy of the State of Italy in Egypt, as this project aims to provide vocational training for Egyptian youth in the fields of tourism and hospitality in accordance with the highest international standards. < /p>

 

The two ministers expressed their welcome to this innovative model of partnership between the public and private sectors in both countries, which is based on achieving mutual benefit and meeting development needs. They also expressed their interest in studying ways to replicate this model in future projects.

 

The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation in creating new tourism products and patterns between the two countries, and cooperation to further promote cultural and leisure tourism. hospitalization, and mechanisms for implementing joint tourism programs to attract tourists from geographically distant countries to visit Egypt and Italy.

 

Sherif Fathi stressed that the ministry is in the process of cooperating to implement new and different tourism programs with multiple types and tourism products. For tourists in coordination with international tour operators, especially in light of Egypt’s great tourism diversity.

 

The two ministers stressed their desire to strengthen cooperation between the tourism ministries of the two countries through the exchange of information, experiences and the best Practices related to tourism policies, in a way that enhances sustainable growth and high quality in this sector, in addition to identifying areas of joint work to fully benefit from the potential of the tourism sector in both Egypt and Italy, and to enhance opportunities for cooperation between the tourism sector in the two countries.

 

This meeting is an important step towards strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Italy in the field of tourism and supporting economic and social development through this vital sector.
