The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities meets with the CEO and director of the Google Egypt office

Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, met with Mr. Hisham El-Nazer, CEO and Director of the Google office in Egypt, and a number of company office officials, in the presence of Mr. Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, and Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, Assistant Minister. During the meeting, ways were discussed to enhance further joint cooperation between the Ministry and Google during the coming period, especially in the field of tourism promotion for Egypt and highlighting it as a young and vibrant tourist destination, which comes within the framework of the Ministry’s promotional policy. The current one, which relies more on electronic marketing and taking advantage of various social media platforms. 

Mechanisms of cooperation were also discussed with the Ministry to promote the Egyptian tourist destination, especially through cooperation with tour operators to promote more widely the joint promotional campaigns that are carried out. It is implemented in cooperation with the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority in the targeted tourism markets, in addition to cooperation to highlight specific cities, destinations, and tourism products to attract more tourists from specific tourism markets and specific categories or types of people with high spending.

This is in addition to To discuss the possibility of benefiting from the technologies and technical services provided by Google to contribute to raising its users’ awareness of the various tourist destinations in Egypt, and to shed more light on them and promote them in a way that leads to an increase in the number of tourists coming to Egypt, and to discuss the possibility of benefiting from Google’s Street View technology to introduce users to the engine. The proposal for cooperation in the field of training and raising the efficiency of the skills and capabilities of the Ministry’s employees in the field of digital transformation was also discussed, in order to benefit from this in the tourism promotion efforts of Egypt. , especially in light of the Ministry’s current promotional policy.

For their part, company officials reviewed the most prominent developments in the joint cooperation existing between the company and the Ministry, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion during the last period, to promote Egypt as a distinguished global tourist destination, noting To the statistics and indicators that they prepared in light of this cooperation, to monitor the numbers and volume of electronic searches carried out by Google users about Egypt, the volume of tourism demand for it, as well as the most prominent tourist destinations that are searched for and in demand.
