The Minister of Public Business Sector witnesses the opening of offers "Sound and light" Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria
Under the patronage of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled, Governor of Alexandria, witnessed the opening ceremony of the sound and light show project in Qaitbay Citadel “Eternal Alexandria”, presented by the Misr Sound, Light and Development Company. Tourism subsidiary of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, one of the companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector, in the presence of a number of senior officials, public figures, consuls of Arab and foreign countries, and members of the House of Representatives and Senate in Alexandria.
Engineer Mohamed Shimi expressed his sincere pride in the coincidence of the ceremony and the 51st anniversary of the Great October Victory, congratulating His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on this glorious occasion and saluting the Armed Forces and their brave men who are writing heroic epics, historic victories and continuous sacrifices.

The Minister explained that the project comes within the framework of the work plan pursued by the Ministry to develop the performance of subsidiaries, improve the quality and level of services provided to citizens, and provide new and diverse products. Enhancing the tourism and cultural role of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, and creating new tourist destinations as part of the state’s drive to boost incoming tourism to Egypt. He pointed out that the sound and light show represents a new tourism experience for visitors to Qaitbay Citadel and Alexandria, both Egyptians and foreigners, as it tells – in Arabic and English – the history of The city and its ancient civilization using modern technologies in sound and lighting to highlight the history of the castle and its architectural beauty.
Engineer Muhammad Shimi indicated that the Ministry is keen to support and promote such projects implemented by companies. The subsidiary will contribute to advancing economic development, creating job opportunities, and increasing tourism revenues, which reflects positively on the national economy, explaining that this project represents the result of cooperation and joint efforts between the Misr Sound and Light Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Public Business Sector, and many bodies, foremost of which is the Ministry of Tourism. At the end of his speech, the Minister thanked everyone who contributed to the completion of this project for the great effort and hard work that was made to ensure that these offers are presented in an appropriate manner that is commensurate with the value and importance of this historical edifice represented by Qaitbay Citadel.
From For his part, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled confirmed that the project " Sound and light" It is one of the pioneering projects for Egyptian and foreign visitors to Qaitbay Citadel, which brings together in one event the greatness of history and future technology, as it tells the history of the city of Alexandria and its various ancient civilizations, Roman, Greek, Coptic, and Islamic, using modern technologies in sound and lighting.
