The Minister of Irrigation stresses the importance of maximizing the return from water per unit of food production
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hani Sweilem, stressed the importance of maximizing the return on water units by “producing more food with less water,” especially in areas suffering from water scarcity and limited water resources, with the necessity of using the water footprint to assess the extent of Success in maximizing the return from the water unit.

Dr. Sweilem explained that desalination for intensive food production is one of the most important tools for dealing with limited water resources.
