The Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade inspects a number of factories in the Ismailia Free Industrial Zone
Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, made a field visit this morning to the free industrial zone in Ismailia Governorate, during which he inspected a number of factories operating in the fields of spinning and weaving, manufacturing medical supplies, and transportation and logistics.
The Minister began the inspection tour by visiting the “Jade” factory. Textile Manufactures ready-made clothing, fabrics, spinning and weaving, with an investment volume of $110 million, and is located on an area of approximately 180,000 square metres. It exports 100% of its production to foreign markets. The factory carries out dyeing, printing, embroidery, and all operations related to the textile and clothing industry.
The Minister also inspected the Wilex Limited factory for manufacturing medical supplies, which is located on an area of 2,146 square meters and whose investments amount to 3 million. Dollars, provides about 55 job opportunities, exports about 80% of its production to foreign markets, and produces about 20% of its production for the local market.
The factory’s most important products include catheters, medical needles, and cannulas. Surgical sutures, disinfectants, detergents, distilled water, and preventive medical supplies. The Minister also inspected the company " Maersk LNS Egypt Free Zones " It operates in the field of providing logistical services to producers and exporters, and is established on an area of 5.5 thousand square meters with an investment amounting to about 5 million dollars.
