The Minister of Health discusses with the World Bank cooperation in the file of human development and health care services
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting with Ambassador Hisham Saif El-Din, Alternate Executive Director of the World Bank Group, to enhance cooperation between the two sides to develop action plans in the file of human development and health care services.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the meeting touched on enhancing cooperation in the human development file by examining the provision of mechanisms aimed at developing the skills and capabilities of individuals, in cooperation with the agencies and ministries entrusted with: (Education and technical education, higher education, work), and adopting modern, long-term ideas aimed at developing the work mechanisms of the educational system and educational programs and curricula, in accordance with global strategies, and contributing to the graduation of quality and skilled graduates into the labor market, increasing productivity, and advancing the economy.
He continued that the Deputy Prime Minister reviewed the efforts and achievements of the Egyptian state in the file of eliminating malaria, and its obtaining international certification by the World Health Organization in October 2024, where he discussed cooperation in providing The necessary support tools to benefit from Egyptian expertise and obtain leadership in helping the countries of the African continent in confronting and combating malaria, as it is one of the most important diseases facing some African countries.
He added “Abdul Ghaffar” said that the meeting witnessed a review of successful health projects and discussed aspects of cooperation to achieve maximum benefit from them, in addition to cooperation in the file of cancerous tumors and public health initiatives. The Deputy Prime Minister also stressed the importance of expanding the marrow transplantation project in Egypt, and discussed cooperation with the Bank. The international community will provide advanced support tools for the success of this health project, and the meeting also touched on cooperation in the climate change file.
Abdul Ghaffar spoke The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation by providing health services to families within the Solidarity and Dignity project of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, by including them under the umbrella of health insurance, in addition to cooperation in the file of providing medical relief to the brotherly Palestinian people, as well as agreement on implementing advanced mechanisms aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two public sectors.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hatem Amer, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for International Relations, Dr. Sozzati, Director of the General Department of External Health Relations, and Dr. Dalia Rasheed, Executive Director of the World Bank Project at the Ministry.
