The Minister of Health discusses with the Women’s Health Institute in the United States ways of cooperation

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting today, Thursday, with Valerie Huber, President and Founder of the Institute for Women’s Health in the United States (IWH), to discuss ways of cooperation in the health field,  This is at the Ministry’s office in the New Administrative Capital.

 

The meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to enhance awareness of health issues facing women and improve the quality of health care provided to them, through partnerships between individuals. And health institutions, and cooperation also contributes to enhancing scientific research on diseases specific to women, which reflects positively on achieving the health well-being of the family and society as a whole.

 

Dr. Hossam explained Abdul Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the Minister began the meeting by welcoming Valerie Huber, stressing his great appreciation for the work of the Institute, which reflects a clear commitment to achieving goals that are in line with the interests of the Ministry of Health, especially the Golden Thousand Days Initiative and its strategic vision, which highlights the value of cooperation and opens broad horizons. To exchange experiences and work together in projects and initiatives aimed at achieving common aspirations.

Abdul Ghaffar said: The Minister stressed the importance of using diverse viewpoints and different speaking styles to ensure effective access to everyone. In a way that serves 27 governorates, noting the importance of linking common goals with the goals of the National Human Development Project, such as improving education, health care, and job opportunities.

«Abdul Ghaffar» added; During the meeting, Egypt’s success in achieving the performance indicators approved by the International Breast Cancer Foundation of the United Nations and the World Health Organization was reviewed. Population and demographic indicators were also discussed during the meeting, and the family development program was discussed, especially the importance of spacing between pregnancies for 5 years, to ensure the care of children. In a sound manner.

For her part, Valerie Hopper, President and Founder of the Women’s Health Institute in the United States, reviewed the PROTEGO programme, which aims to form international partnerships to improve the health of women and families, and encourages Countries are committed to promoting optimal health for women and girls from the first 1,000 days of life, noting the importance of sharing local and international expertise, and not applying ready-made solutions, noting that the program is based on 4 basic pillars: health, education, law, and diplomacy.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abla Al-Alfi, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, Ambassador Dr. Sameh Abu Al-Enein, Assistant Secretary of State for American Affairs, Anita Cox, Diplomatic Director of the Women’s Health Institute, and Dr. Rasha Khader, Head of the Basic Care and Family Development Sector, Dr. Hisham Al-Ghazali, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Women’s Health Initiative, Dr. Mona Khalifa, Director General of the General Administration of Health Initiatives, Dr. Suzan Al-Zanati, Director General of the General Administration of External Health Relations, and Dr. Hatem Amer, Assistant to the Minister For international relations.
