The Minister of Health discusses with officials "Sanofi" French cooperation to provide medicines for chronic diseases

Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, discussed with Sanofi officials French ways of cooperation to provide basic medicines for chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases at affordable prices, in addition to cooperation in the field of local manufacturing of pharmaceutical preparations through establishing partnerships between Sanofi and Egyptian pharmaceutical manufacturing companies to increase local production capacity and reduce costs. And ensuring a stable supply of vital medicines.

This came during Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar’s meeting with Sanofi officials, following his visit to the company’s headquarters in France, on the sidelines of the “Egyptian-French Business” Forum. In the city of Paris, which aims to strengthen economic relations between Egypt and France, and explore new investment opportunities in many areas of common interest.

 

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry, explained Health and Population, that the Minister stressed the need to benefit from the strengths of both sides to improve public health results in Egypt, through implementing public health and disease prevention programs, and developing a plan to ensure that vaccines reach all citizens, as well as implementing immunization campaigns, through Sanofi’s cooperation with The Ministry of Health and Population to expand the coverage of vaccines, especially against influenza, meningitis, and dengue fever, in addition to launching joint campaigns to raise awareness and provide vaccines in remote areas.

 

He pointed out "Abdul Ghaffar" The meeting discussed the possibility of implementing digital health platforms to track immunization and monitor public health, and benefit from Sanofi’s experience in healthcare technology, in addition to cooperation in developing electronic platforms and mobile phone applications to help patients access reliable health information.

He noted that the meeting dealt with providing training opportunities for medical staff. And providing capacity building programs to hone their skills in the field of clinical research and advanced medical treatments.

 

Abdul Ghaffar continued: The meeting discussed ways of joint cooperation in education and awareness in the field of public health to improve awareness about chronic disease prevention and management, vaccines, public health care practices, and financing initiatives aimed at improving access to health care in rural and remote areas through partnership models. Between the public and private sectors.

 

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population indicated that the meeting discussed ways for Sanofi to support the Ministry of Health and Population to enhance the goals of health sector sustainability in Egypt by focusing on Environmentally friendly health care solutions, including the production of energy-saving medicines.

 

He added that the meeting dealt with strengthening cooperation in preparing for emergencies and epidemics, and responding to the pandemic by training medical staff. To enhance preparedness and response to epidemics, and to create frameworks for distributing vaccines and storing medicines.

 

He noted that the Minister confirmed – at the conclusion of the meeting – that cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Population and Sanofi helps In strengthening healthcare infrastructure, improving access to essential medicines, and increasing the general well-being of citizens.
