The Minister of Health confirms Egypt’s commitment to supporting Arab brothers everywhere

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, and Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, stressed the need to pay attention to achieving health and social security for the Arab citizen in light of the emergency and difficult circumstances that a number of countries in the region are witnessing, which is what It foretells many complications in the health systems of those countries, which prompts us to make every effort to alleviate all the health and social pressures and suffering that afflict the people of those countries.

This came in Dr. Khaled’s speech. Abdul Ghaffar, during the meeting of the Supreme Committee of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, within the activities of the 61st session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, which is held in the sisterly state of Iraq, where he began his speech by greeting and thanking the Prime Minister of the Iraqi Republic, Engineer Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, Minister of Health. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed his keenness to carefully follow up on the decisions and recommendations issued and implemented in previous sessions of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, pointing to the rapid response being made to the humanitarian catastrophe that befell the brotherly Palestinian people by providing The necessary medical and humanitarian aid to cover the needs of the medical sector in the sisterly State of Palestine, under the exceptional and difficult circumstances that have struck the health system, as a result of the current events and the continuation of attacks against Palestinian hospitals and health facilities, in addition to The siege imposed on the border crossings and the obstruction of supply lines through them, which blatantly threatened the continued provision of the simplest health services to the sick and injured and exhausted the human resources working there.

The head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Health Ministers appealed to all Arab member states to respond. Rapid response to meet the needs of the brotherly Palestinian people, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the League of Arab States, stressing in this regard Egypt’s continued commitment to its historical role in providing all forms of support and assistance to the brotherly Palestinian people, and extending a helping hand to coordinate with the rest of the Palestinian people. Arab countries to coordinate any relief efforts that would alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, as well as to integrate into any initiative that supports rebuilding the Palestinian health system during the reconstruction period.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar praised the effective role of the Arab member countries in what It was carried out in solidarity with the Palestinian state, and with the medical, humanitarian and relief aid it provided through the Rafah crossing, calling on all member states to continue the flow of this aid in sufficient quantities and urgently to the Palestinian people without stopping either. Within the framework of the Council of Arab Health Ministers or through individual initiatives.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar pointed to what the sisterly State of Lebanon witnessed recently, which had a devastating impact on the health system, which requires everyone to stand with the sisterly State of Lebanon. To support the brothers in Sudan against the backdrop of the unprecedented catastrophic conditions to which the brotherly Sudanese people were exposed as a result of the current political situation and the floods that caused severe damage.

Dr. Khaled continued. Abdul Ghaffar, said that in light of the torrents and floods that the sister Republic of Somalia was exposed to and the resulting severe effects on the provision of health services in the country, it is necessary to continue supporting Somalia until it recovers from this emergency humanitarian and health crisis.

The head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Health Ministers affirmed Egypt’s readiness to cooperate with our brothers in the Arab member states to provide all necessary support and assistance that may be necessary. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar also affirmed Egypt’s full support for Arab strategies aimed at improving In Arab health systems, referring to what was discussed in the Executive Office meeting on the Arab strategy for improving maternal and child health, against which the technical secretariat of the Council held a workshop with the broad participation of various member states, which demonstrated the keenness of these countries to shed light on all initiatives to support maternal and child health.

With regard to the Arab strategy for a health-friendly budget, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed that he welcomed any strategies implemented to arrange the financial and financing priorities of Arab health systems through allocating specific and clear budgets. The needs of these systems, especially in times of crises or health threats. He also stressed that Egypt welcomes any initiative to cooperate with sisterly Arab countries in the field of digital transformation of health services.

He revealed that the Arab Medicines Agency is about to become a tangible reality in the near future. In Concluding his speech, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar affirmed his full support for all oversight mechanisms for the agencies emanating from the Council of Arab Health Ministers, to ensure transparency for all their activities and to ensure that they fulfill their tasks for which they were established in an optimal manner.
