The Minister of Foreign Affairs receives a delegation from the Palestine Liberation Organization

Dr. received Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, a delegation from the Palestine Liberation Organization, with the membership of Mr. Rawhi Fattouh, Speaker of the National Council, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Majdalani and Mr. Azzam Al-Ahmad, members of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

 

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed Egypt’s position in support of the Palestinian Authority, reiterating Egypt’s rejection of any plans. To displace the Palestinians from their lands,  Minister Abdel Ati was also keen to review Egypt’s efforts and communications to stop the war on the Gaza Strip and reach an agreement under which a ceasefire would be established in Gaza, in addition to ensuring the full implementation of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip without obstacles. 

 

Minister Abdel-Aty was keen to review the efforts undertaken by Egypt in mobilizing support for the recognition of the Palestinian state on the international scene. And the communications it conducts with all countries to convey its vision of the necessity of working to find a permanent and just solution to the Palestinian issue through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, pointing to the necessity of working on the unity of the Palestinian ranks, and strengthening the role of the National Authority, in a way that ensures the achievement of The aspirations and hopes of the Palestinian people.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs condemned the publication by official Israeli accounts of a map claiming to be historical and including Arab lands for Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon. And Syria.

 

Minister Abdel-Ati also listened to the assessments of members of the Palestine Liberation Organization delegation regarding developments in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
