The Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with members of the diplomatic and consular corps of junior and intermediate levels
Dr. met. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, today, Tuesday, with members of the diplomatic and consular corps of new and intermediate levels, within the framework of the keenness to hold periodic meetings with members of the Ministry and listen to opinions and proposals aimed at improving the work mechanisms of the Ministry and improving consular services.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that representing the Egyptian state is an honor and a great responsibility placed on the shoulders of the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which requires harmony of work between all sectors, embassies and Egyptian missions abroad and a commitment to the highest levels of professionalism and craftsmanship at work.
He stressed that the diplomat must interact with the priorities and concerns of the Egyptian citizen, keeping in mind the protection of the interests and capabilities of the nation.
Minister Abdel-Ati also reviewed the situation in the region and the successive crises that are unprecedented in the history of the region, noting that this exceptional situation requires the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take the lead in putting forward ideas and initiatives that serve Egyptian foreign policy, and preparing visions for the axes of action in files related to Egypt’s national security.
In addition to the above, the Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed the mandate for all Egyptian embassies and missions abroad to give high priority to the development dimension in Egyptian diplomatic work and the importance of enhancing trade and investment cooperation with countries of dependence, and achieving Tangible results in this regard contribute to supporting the Egyptian economy directly.
He also stressed the great importance that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attaches to consular work, caring for Egyptians abroad, and linking them to their home country, stressing The Ministry is keen to provide distinguished consular services, noting that the Ministry has already come a long way towards digitizing consular services and is working to develop its performance on an ongoing basis.
At the end of the meeting Minister Abdel Ati held an interactive dialogue with young diplomats to listen to ideas and proposals for developing the Ministry’s work mechanisms and improving the quality of consular services, stressing in this context the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ keenness to continuously develop its performance to interact with national priorities, and to enhance the benefit from the experiences of successive generations.
