The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration signs a memorandum of understanding to launch a mechanism for political consultation with Ireland

 Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Ireland, Mehul Martin, during the last leg of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s European tour. This is to sign a memorandum of understanding to launch a mechanism for political consultation between Egypt and Ireland.

The two ministers’ signing of the memorandum of understanding to launch a mechanism for political consultation between Egypt and Ireland comes as one of the outcomes of the presidential visit, and reflects the momentum witnessed by relations between the two countries during the recent period, which It culminated in the visit of the President of the Republic, and the mutual keenness to build on the results of the presidential visit to advance bilateral relations and enhance various aspects of cooperation politically, economically and culturally in a way that serves the interests of  

Minister Abdel-Ati appreciated Ireland’s honorable position on the Palestinian issue and its recognition of the Palestinian state, stressing the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the entry of humanitarian aid.
