The Minister of Endowments witnesses the memorandum of religious cooperation between Egypt and Malaysia
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Dr. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, witnessed the signing ceremony and exchange of a memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments and the Islamic Development Department in Malaysia, to enhance cooperation in the field of Islamic affairs between the two countries.
The signing ceremony came as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening common ties between the two countries and marking 65 years of relations between the two countries, where the two parties exchanged visions on ways to develop joint work, to reach a comprehensive strategic partnership, And coordinate efforts to address the challenges facing the two countries.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, representing the Egyptian side, and Dato’ Sri Utama Mohamed bin Hassan, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Representing the Malaysian side, they affirmed their countries’ commitment to developing educational and advocacy programs that aim to spread centrist thought and moderation in Egyptian and Malaysian societies.
The memorandum of understanding focuses on exchanging experiences in the fields of Training imams and preachers, developing religious education curricula, and promoting the exchange of specialized scientific research in the sciences of Islamic law, which opens new horizons for enhancing common religious awareness and enhancing cultural rapprochement.
This comes The signing is within the framework of a shared vision for the future of Islamic cooperation, and to enhance the existing bilateral relations between Egypt and Malaysia in various fields, in a way that supports the stability of the region and contributes to establishing a culture of peace and coexistence.
