The Minister of Endowments praises the decision of National Media to cancel advertisements on the Holy Quran Radio

Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, praised the decision of Ahmed Al-Maslamani, Chairman of the National Media Authority, to cancel commercial advertisements from the Holy Quran Radio, noting that this decision restores the Holy Quran Radio to its dignity and its enlightening role that emanates from Egypt to the world, describing it as a wise decision. The Minister of Endowments confirmed his full support for this decision, noting that it is a positive step that responds to the demands of the Holy Quran Radio audience and official religious institutions, which have long complained about the impact of advertisements on the nature of The religious and spiritual content of the radio.

 

The Minister of Endowments praised the decision of the National Media Authority to stop broadcasting commercial advertisements on the Holy Quran Radio as of January 1. 2025 AD, considering that transferring advertisements to other radio stations is a positive step, aiming to enhance the focus on the high religious content provided by the radio, thus confirming the values ​​of moderation and moderation and enhancing its position as a distinguished radio platform.

 

The National Media Authority Council, headed by writer Ahmed Al-Muslimani, had approved the recommendation of the Authority’s Donations and Advertising Policies Committee to transfer advertisements from the Holy Quran Radio to other radio stations affiliated with the Authority. The decision shall be implemented as of January 1, 2025.

 

In this context, the Chairman of the Authority thanked Engineer Khaled Abdel Aziz for his effective role with the Ministry of Finance in securing the necessary financial support to cover any potential decrease in revenue from such advertising; This ensures the continued provision of media services at a distinguished level without financial impact.

 

It is noteworthy that the Holy Quran Radio, which was established in 1964 AD, is considered an ancient media platform, as the number of its listeners exceeds 60 million listeners. This decision was widely welcomed by radio audiences and leaders of religious institutions, especially after repeated complaints about the broadcast of commercial advertisements.
