The Minister of Endowments participates in the opening of the book fair

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, opened the activities of the 56th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which is considered one of the most prominent book fairs in the world, in the presence of  Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, Dr. Ahmed Bahi El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Authority, and a number of senior officials from culture and education.

This year’s exhibition is witnessing distinguished participation from more than 60 countries, with increasing visitor interest in the works.

In his opening speech, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno said: “Today we celebrate the opening of this important cultural event, which combines literature and thought.” And science.

The Cairo Book Fair is considered one of the most prestigious international exhibitions, and it confirms Egypt’s efforts to spread culture and science. We believe that reading is the basis for building nations and the progress of peoples, and that this exhibition is a platform for cultural exchange between countries and contributes to spreading enlightened thought.”

For his part, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, stressed that the Cairo International Book Fair constitutes a meeting point between different cultures, and represents an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences between individuals and communities, adding: "The book is the weapon of the mind, and at this stage in the history of Egypt and the world we need enlightened thought, which reinforces the values ​​of moderation and moderation.

The Ministry of Endowments is keen to participate in the exhibition on a permanent basis through the pavilion of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Which provides a group of publications that support moderate thought and confront extremism in all its forms.”

Al-Azhari added: “We in the Ministry seek to activate the role of the book in the lives of individuals, especially young people, as we provide them with opportunities to learn about different ideas.” Variety contributes to building their personalities positively.
