The Minister of Electricity reviews future plan projects, executive procedures, and the extent of the readiness of the lands necessary for them

Within the framework of the state’s direction, the work plan of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the energy strategy, the program to diversify energy sources, expand renewable energy projects and rely on them, rationalize the use of traditional energy, and reduce dependence on fossil fuels to achieve sustainable development and transition to green, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Energy, A field visit to the New and Renewable Energy Authority in Nasr City, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Al-Khayyat, Chairman of the Authority, and the participation of a number of leaders and experts working in it, in order to follow up on the progress of work and the role of the New and Renewable Energy Authority and its contributions in various fields, including Localization of industries for electrical tasks necessary to expand electricity generation from wind and sun, the effective role in rationalizing and improving energy efficiency, and the position of future plan projects within the framework of the energy strategy.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat reviewed the plan. The position of future plan projects for renewable energies and executive procedures until the year 2030 and the extent of the readiness of the lands needed for them, as well as the position of allocating new lands for renewable energy projects required to achieve the energy strategy until the year 2040, which includes establishing total capabilities. Up to 40.5 GW of wind  24.7 solar gigawatts, in light of the new energy strategy and the work plan to build a strong, flexible, and safe network that accommodates generating capabilities and achieves stability and continuity of electrical supply.

Inspect Dr. Mahmoud Esmat&nbsp Energy efficiency laboratories for home appliances (refrigerators – washing machines – electric heaters – air conditioning – variable speed, fixed speed – dishwashers), which tests the energy efficiency of these devices and issues a report for each test and sends it to the General Authority for Standardization and Quality to issue an efficiency card. Energy efficiency for this product. The inspection tour within the authority included two performance efficiency laboratories for both solar heater systems and photovoltaic cells, due to their importance. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat emphasized the importance of working to encourage the use of photovoltaic cell systems to produce electricity in government buildings, homes, tourist villages, as well as factories. The effective role of this step in diversifying the sources of electrical energy and reducing the burden on the unified electrical network, pointing out the importance of encouraging local manufacturing of wind turbines, and the necessity of holding immediate meetings with international companies that manufacture turbines and presenting the future plan and capabilities. Available resources and the importance of establishing factories in Egypt to meet the needs of the local and regional market, within the framework of the strategy of maximizing the local component and localizing modern technology.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat said that the New and Renewable Energy Authority plays a major role. In supporting procedures  Regarding increasing the contribution of clean energy to the energy mix in light of the energy strategy that was adopted to increase the contribution of renewable energies and rely on them within the framework of good management, exploitation and maximization of returns from natural resources, which were transformed into executive work plans and contracts with timetables and adding new generating capacities to the unified network, in order to In cooperation and partnership with the local and foreign private sector, pointing to achieving the annual target through contracts and implementation plans in light of the state plan and the role of renewable energy in confronting climate change, reducing carbon emissions, and reducing the use of traditional fuels, Explaining the work to support and stimulate the participation of the private sector in renewable energy projects, and the measures that have been taken to create an attractive investment environment, a supportive legislative structure, and investor confidence  In the Egyptian energy sector, the expansion of local manufacturing programs for wind and solar energy tasks, and the availability of raw materials and other industry requirements.
