The Minister of Education discusses with his Qatari counterpart ways of cooperation in the field of developing pre-university education

Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif affirmed his deep appreciation for the fruitful relations in the field of developing pre-university education between Egypt and Qatar, explaining the importance of cooperation to improve the quality of the educational process. To ensure a better future for future generations.

 

This came during the meeting of the Minister of Education, today, Monday, with the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Chairman of the Qatari National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, Lulwah bint Rashid bin Muhammad Al-Khater; To discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the field of developing pre-university education.

 

This comes on the sidelines of the Minister’s participation in the 14th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education under the slogan “Comprehensive Education and Empowering Teachers, a Strategic Vision.” “For Education in the Arab World”, which is organized by the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar and the Qatari National Commission for Education, Culture and Science during the period (5 – 7) January. Current.

 

Abdul Latif reviewed the Egyptian experience in confronting the challenges facing the educational process in Egypt. To achieve better education for students, he explained that the problem of densities had been eliminated, and the number of students in the class had been reduced to less than 50, in addition to solving the problem of the shortage in the number of teachers, in addition to restructuring the general secondary stage to enhance the quality of education within schools, as well as attracting students to schools.

 

He also reviewed the experience of applied technology schools, which achieved great success. Because of the specializations it offers in many fields, and the increased demand for enrollment in them; To provide job opportunities for graduates inside and outside Egypt.

 

He said that the Ministry is seeking to increase the number of applied technology schools in various governorates. This contributes to improving the quality of the outputs and levels of technical and vocational skills for technical education students and graduating students capable of competing and joining the local and international labor market in various fields and specializations.

 

The Minister referred to the experience of Egyptian education in Schools of Excellence for Science and Technology (STEM) to care for the outstanding and gifted and develop their abilities, stressing that the “STEM” model It is considered one of the most important successful educational experiences in Egypt, and its curricula are based on integration between different subjects and the design of learning outcomes that are in line with national and international standards.

 

He pointed out that the Egyptian educational system was able to Through this model, many international awards were achieved and many innovations were presented that were adopted by all state institutions, and many of its students were able to obtain advanced positions in international competitions that received praise from various countries. The world.

 

For her part, the Minister of Education and Higher Education of the State of Qatar, Lulwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater, expressed her pride in the joint cooperation with the Egyptian side, stressing the openness of the State of Qatar to strengthen Ways of cooperation with Egypt in the field of pre-university education in various fields, pointing to Qatar’s intention to expand the development of vocational and technical education within the country and its keenness to enhance cooperation with Egypt in this regard. The field.

 

During the meeting, ways of enhancing cooperation in developing new teacher training programs and exchanging experiences in developing Egyptian and Qatari curricula were also discussed.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Education invited his Qatari counterpart to visit Egypt to learn about Egypt’s experience in the field of pre-university education, in schools of excellence for science and technology, and schools of applied technology, in addition to reviewing the various educational models included in the education sector. in Egypt, and its efforts to improve the quality of the educational system and provide real education to students inside schools.
