The Minister of Cooperation discusses preparations for the fourth session of the Egyptian-Romanian Committee
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, discussed with Olivia Toderan, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Romania in Cairo, files of joint work and enhancing ways of cooperation during the coming period.
The Minister of International Cooperation welcomed the new Ambassador of the Republic of Romania in Cairo, praising The distinguished economic and trade relations between the two countries, as both Egypt and Romania are linked by close historical relations that exceeded 100 years.
During the meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters, the two sides discussed preparing for the meetings of the fourth session of the Egyptian-Romanian Joint Committee headed by the Ministry of International Cooperation on the side. The Egyptian and the Ministry of Economy on the Romanian side at the end of next April, as these meetings aim to push economic, commercial and tourism cooperation relations to broader horizons and achieve tangible achievements on the ground that will benefit the peoples of both countries.
It is scheduled to include The committee’s agenda will focus on specific areas that were chosen after an extensive study of the relative advantages of both countries, and the needs and priorities of the Egyptian side, in order to ensure that the two parties achieve the maximum benefit from holding these meetings, such as trade, investment, electricity and energy, agriculture, health, education, medical tourism, Communications and information technology, civil aviation, defense industries, international development cooperation, in addition to examining ways and mechanisms to enhance the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
The Minister of International Cooperation pointed out the importance of holding a forum for businessmen from the two countries and representatives of Romanian and Egyptian companies to identify opportunities. Investments available in both countries, as well as the advantages of investing in Egypt, to attract more Romanian investments to Egypt in the context of ensuring that the private sector has the opportunity to play the role assigned to it in implementing the state’s development plan and accessing promising markets.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of International Cooperation supervises 68 committees between the Arab Republic of Egypt and countries from various continents of the world, including 8 Asian committees, 30 European committees, 14 committees with Arab countries, 9 African committees, in addition to 7 committees with Latin American countries.
Joint committees are an important mechanism for activating and developing bilateral cooperation relations, benefiting from experiences between countries in various fields, and strengthening common positions. It is agreed to establish joint committees through concluding framework agreements for economic, scientific and technical cooperation between Egypt and any of the countries. And through the various sessions of the committees, common capabilities are identified and how to benefit from them and facilitate economic, trade and investment cooperation.
