The Minister of Agriculture meets with some of his counterparts from Africa on the sidelines of the Extraordinary African Union Summit for Agricultural Development

Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, met on the sidelines of his participation in the Extraordinary African Union Summit for Agricultural Development, which is currently being held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, with his counterparts in the countries of Algeria, Uganda, Congo, and Kenya to discuss ways of joint agricultural cooperation and achieving food security for the peoples of the African continent.

 

The Minister of Agriculture expressed during his meeting with “Frank Kajo” The Ugandan Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, pointing out the strength and strength of the relations between Egypt and Uganda, and cooperation in many fields, especially the agricultural sector.

 

Farouk stressed the importance of this summit to formulate African policies that support agricultural industries and enhance the empowerment of small farmers, women and youth, as well as promoting, facilitating and flowing agricultural goods and products between countries. African.

 

 Farouk said during his meeting, “Youssef honors him.” The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries of the State of Algeria said that bilateral relations between Egypt and Algeria have witnessed remarkable development in various fields, especially in the agricultural field, where a number of agreements were signed that aim to enhance agricultural cooperation between the two countries, including the exchange of expertise and technology in The field of agriculture and land reclamation, pointing out the importance of working to implement joint projects that will enhance food security in the two countries, increase productivity, and exchange research and expertise in all sectors related to agriculture and food security, especially in light of the challenges facing the world. In the field of food security, which makes agricultural cooperation between sister countries necessary.

 

In a related context, Farouk also met with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he confirmed the directives of the political leadership. President Sisi is interested in deepening ways of joint cooperation between Egypt and the countries of the African continent, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in order to achieve sustainable development for the peoples of the African continent.

 

The Minister of Agriculture stressed Al-Masry said that strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and opening new horizons for cooperation in the agricultural field is an essential foundation for achieving food security and sustainable development for both countries, pointing out the importance of working to exchange modern agricultural expertise and technology between the two countries, in addition to enhancing joint agricultural investments and developing supply chains. Food, manufacturing of agricultural products, as well as cooperation in the field of agricultural research between agricultural research institutions in the two countries, and the exchange of researchers and scientists.

 

While Farouk also met with “Andrew karanja" The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Kenya, where they discussed with him ways to enhance joint cooperation in the agricultural sector.

 

The two sides stressed the importance of exchanging agricultural experiences between the two countries, especially in the field of sustainable agriculture, As well as opportunities for joint investment in the agricultural sector, and enhancing cooperation in the field of livestock, including developing animal breeds and improving productivity.

 

 The meetings were attended by Ambassador Munther Selim, Ambassador of Egypt. In a country Uganda, Dr. Adel Abdel-Azim, head of the Agricultural Research Center, and Dr. Saad Moussa, supervisor of foreign agricultural relations.

 

Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, headed to the Ugandan capital, Kampala, in Cairo.
