The Minister of Agriculture, his Jordanian counterpart, and the Governor of Beheira inspect a citrus export station and farm in Nubariya
Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Engineer Khaled Al-Hanafayat, Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, and Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, inspected the citrus export station and farm in Nubariya, affiliated with the Cairo Import and Export Company (GAMCO), in the presence of Engineer Mustafa Al-Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
The two ministers, the governor, and the delegation accompanying them heard from Engineer Muhammad Jaber Moina, Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, gave a presentation on the production capacity of the station, which amounts to 600 tons per day, which is built on an area of 21 thousand square meters, and has two production lines and 6 storage refrigerators, in addition to 3 rapid-cooling refrigerators with a storage capacity of 2,500 tons of citrus fruits, pomegranates, grapes, and mangoes. p>
The Minister of Agriculture praised the distinguished level of the station that exports its products abroad, stressing the support The Egyptian state for the private sector, noting that Egypt ranks first in the world in citrus exports, and that Egyptian agricultural exports are currently invading most of the world’s markets and are in increasing demand from all countries due to their quality and good reputation.
For his part, the Jordanian minister stressed Egyptian oranges are popular in their country’s markets and popular with Jordanian consumers due to their distinct taste.
It is worth noting that Egypt exports to the Kingdom of Jordan. Hashemite citrus fruits, guava, romaine and mango in large quantities. It is noteworthy that the area of citrus fruits in Nubariya is estimated at 145 thousand acres out of the total area of citrus fruits in Egypt, which is estimated at 517 thousand acres, and the amount of export exceeded 2.3 million tons, with Egypt ranking first in the world.
