The Medicines Authority at the third session of the Egyptian-Tajik Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation

The Egyptian Medicine Authority participated in the committee’s activities and discussed mechanisms for developing Egyptian-Tajik relations, which extend over decades, in light of economic developments at the regional and international levels, which require concerted joint efforts in order to support areas of development between the two countries.< /p>

This came in light of the activities of the third session of the Egyptian-Tajik Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the Tajik capital. "Dushanbe" Headed by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation.

The Egyptian Medicines Authority participated in the activities and meetings of the committee at the ministerial level regarding trade exchange in the fields of medicines and vaccines to open the Tajik medicine market to Egyptian pharmaceuticals. ; Due to its quality, safety and effectiveness, in addition to the possibility of transferring manufacturing technology to Tajikistan. 

The Egyptian Medicine Authority participated, represented by Dr. Yassin Rajai, Assistant Chairman of the Authority, who signed bilateral protocols that include a number of incentives and facilities for Egyptian companies in several items to facilitate the trading of Egyptian products in the local market in Tajikistan; The first of which was reducing the time period and fees required to register pharmaceutical products from Egyptian companies within a period not exceeding 3 months from the start of applying to the regulatory authorities in Tajikistan, in addition to the sustainability of communication channels to ensure that all obstacles between the two sides are overcome.

Also. The memorandum of understanding included cooperation in the field of medicinal herbs used in the production of medicines and the introduction of pharmaceutical technologies in the Republic of Tajikistan, in addition to initiating capacity building activities to raise the efficiency of the Tajik side in regulatory frameworks. followed in the field of medicines and performance measurement tools in accordance with World Health Organization standards.

On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Dr. Yass Rajaee’s speech during the committee headed by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, in which he expressed the Egyptian side’s keenness to cooperate and deepen joint cooperation relations in the pharmaceutical sector, and the importance of  The memorandum should represent a nucleus for the fruitful activation of joint and continuous cooperation, given the strategic importance that the Egyptian market represents for the Tajik pharmaceutical market, especially due to the safety and high quality of Egyptian medicines.

He also pointed out that the memorandum of understanding aims to strengthen regulatory frameworks. Through continuous professional development, raising the efficiency of workers and transferring expertise in accordance with international standards, with the aim of making better organizational decisions to benefit the health of citizens and serve the goals of public health.

Dr. Yassin Rajai held a number of meetings following the committee during the joint Egyptian-Tajik business council, with a number of Egyptian and Tajik companies to maximize the benefit from activating the provisions of the protocol, encourage the Egyptian pharmaceutical industry, attract capital, create new job opportunities, and increase export capacity based on Egyptian leadership to support investment and access Egyptian preparations and supplies for global pharmaceutical markets.

The current session comes as a continuation of the first two meetings in 2009 and the second in 2019, and in continuation of the joint efforts and desire of the leaders of the two countries, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, to strengthen bilateral relations since their meeting in March 2022; To be one of the positive steps in the Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation with the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
