Within the framework of national efforts and joint societal responsibility to confront rumors and enhance societal awareness, His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, received in his office at the Al-Azhar Sheikh, Representative Dr. Tariq Saada, Head of the Media Syndicate and Member of the Senate, to discuss ways of cooperation between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. And the Media Syndicate in supporting the battle of awareness and fortifying society against fake news and false information.
The meeting discussed defining frameworks for joint cooperation, where His Eminence the Imam affirmed The greatest importance is the integration of efforts between religious and media institutions in confronting rumors that target the stability of society, praising the role of the Media Syndicate in controlling media performance and promoting responsible discourse that contributes to developing national awareness.
For his part, the Head of the Media Syndicate expressed his pride in meeting Fadila. The Grand Imam, praising the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading moderate thought and combating extremism.
He stressed that the Media Syndicate inaugurated the “Center for Combating Rumors” It comes in the context of efforts aimed at protecting society from fake news and promoting a culture of verifying information, stressing the importance of partnership with Al-Azhar in this national battle to enhance awareness and spread the values of truth and goodness.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed seriously and urgently.
