The Governor of Luxor directs the paving of the main street of Basin 18 and the allocation of a new area for a market "Tuesday"
Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, led a tour inside the city of Luxor, which included the areas of Basin 18, Television Street, Nag al-Khattab, East of the Railway, and Sheikh Attiya, as part of his ongoing tours to follow up on the regularity of the work of local authorities.
The governor’s tour began with an inspection of the Basin 18 area, where the governor directed that the main street be paved after all utility work had been completed, along with decorating the central island and planting it with flower beds, and planting trees on both sides of the road. The governor also directed the removal of weeds and encroachments on a number of branching roads in the Basin 18 area in preparation for opening. These roads have been paved for traffic and lighting work has been intensified by providing the street with new lighting poles.
During his tour in the Basin 18 region, the governor met with a number of citizens and listened to their demands to connect the facilities, pay their value in installments, and modify the streets. He responded to them immediately, as he assigned Luxor city officials and the engineering administration to provide facilities for citizens to issue licenses and pay the value of connecting the facilities in installments, while opening streets in the areas that had been agreed upon between them. The governor continued his tour by inspecting the Television Street area, where he followed the work of painting the wall and facade of the Luxor International Medical Complex and its lighting, as well as the work of painting the facades of buildings on the main street. The governor warned against not painting the facades in a uniform color and cutting off facilities from the violating buildings, residential units and shops, while reviewing their licenses.
The governor continued his tour by inspecting the streets of Naga al-Khattab and the East Sikka and Muroor area, where he directed the intensification of landscaping and cleaning works, and followed up on the implementation of his directives to install interlock tiles and open the entrance to the Mashayikh Attiya Mosque area from the main street.
The governor concluded his tour by inspecting the new location of the “Tuesday” market, east of the railway, after transforming the market’s location from the 25th Street area to an area adjacent to it, along the street, in a large plot of empty land that will be prepared for the establishment of a one-day market, in order to open the main street to cars and passers-by and to prevent congestion and crowding. Citizens.
The governor directed that the new market area be paved and leveled and that it be prepared in a civilized manner to receive fruit and vegetable vendors, with intensified lighting work, instead of vendors exploiting the main street, which causes it to be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays weekly.
