Luxor Governorate, in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development, launched the visual identity project for the city of Esna. Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, and Sean Jones, Director of the Mission for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), witnessed the ceremony of handing over the intellectual property rights certificate for the visual identity, the design guidelines guide, and the marketing brand for the city of Esna, which is one of the The main outputs of the project “Rediscovering the Cultural Heritage Assets of the City of Esna”.
The “Rediscovering the Cultural Heritage Assets of the City of Esna” project was implemented within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Luxor Governorate, and the Ministry of International Cooperation, with support from the United States Agency for International Development, within the framework of the joint agreement between the governments of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America, regarding sustainable investment in Tourism in Egypt “SITE”, which aims to increase the competitiveness of the tourism sector in Egypt by raising the level of management, promotion and preservation of heritage sites.
The certificate was signed by Engineer Karim Ibrahim, Executive Director of Takween for Integrated Communities Development, the entity responsible for implementing the project “Rediscovering the Heritage and Cultural Assets of the City of Esna,” and Dr. Mohamed Rizk, Head of the Local Unit for the Center and City of Esna, in the presence of Engineer Nevin Akl, Director of the Design Unit of the Esna Development Project, and Rania Abdel. Al-Ati, Director of Visual Identity in Luxor Governorate.
For his part, the Governor of Luxor, Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, stressed that Luxor was the owner of the first project in the republic to implement the concept of visual identity in the city of Luxor. The cooperation came with the United States Agency for International Development and the project to rediscover the historical assets of Esna in order to revive and revitalize the tourism movement in Esna and exploit it. Its distinctive tourism character and the implementation of a special project for the visual and marketing identity that expresses the special nature of Esna as one of the distinguished tourist areas in South Upper Egypt and not just in Luxor, with its archaeological landmarks extending over various periods.
