The Governor of Beheira and the Chairman of the Book Authority open the 7th session of the Damanhour Book Fair
Within the initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building”… the Governor of Beheira and the Chairman of the Book Authority inaugurate the 7th session of the Damanhour Book Fair
Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, and Dr. Ahmed Bahi El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Authority, opened today, Tuesday, the activities of the 7th session of the Damanhour Book Fair, which is organized by the Authority at the Egyptian Public Library in Damanhour, with the participation of a group From Egyptian publishing houses, in addition to the Ministry’s sectors, as part of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Building Humanity,” and its activities will continue until October 11.
The attendees visited the exhibition pavilions, publishing houses, and ministry sectors, and watched a group of artistic performances presented by popular arts groups on the sidelines of the opening. p>
Jacqueline Azar praised the organization and diverse publications in all branches of knowledge of the Book Authority, and its publications of children’s books, stressing that the prices of the authority’s publications are affordable for everyone. The Governor of Beheira said that the Damanhour Exhibition, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture through the Egyptian General Book Authority, is considered one of the most important cultural events taking place in the governorate within the development plans, pointing out that the two wings of construction and development are education and culture."LTR">.
She said that the Damanhour Book Fair is a huge cultural event that enhances the cultural and knowledge movement in the governorate. It is also a golden opportunity for the people of the governorate to enjoy a distinguished group of cultural, artistic and awareness-raising events, in addition to various creative activities. Including the activities of the children’s camp, which makes it an important platform for exchanging ideas and creativity, and a real opportunity to enhance cultural and societal values, and highlight the role of Beheira Governorate in the cultural movement.
Jacqueline Azar invited the people of the governorate to visit the exhibition and purchase its various publications, especially since there are books at low prices starting from one pound. Explaining that we need to read, be informed, and know, to face the challenges facing the Egyptian state.
She confirmed that the governorate seeks to provide free means of transportation to the people of Damanhour, To go to the exhibition, as well as school trips.
For her part, Dr. Ahmed Bahi El-Din said that the 7th session of the Damanhour Book Fair comes this year within the framework of the Presidential Initiative for Human Development “A New Beginning for Human Building,” stressing that the exhibition promotes the culture of reading through the various publications presented in it, whether by the General Authority For writers, other sectors of the ministry, or private publishing houses participating this year.
He stressed that the exhibition is accompanied by a cultural program to celebrate the writers and writers of Beheira Governorate, and a program for children, and its activities are keen to strengthen the Egyptian identity, the values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, in addition to supporting comprehensive development and talent development, with a focus on promoting human rights and developing the Egyptian family.
He pointed out that the seventh session of the Damanhour Book Fair reflects the interest in its continuity due to the importance of reading in the process of nourishing the mind with culture and science, stressing that reading plays an essential role in shaping and building the Egyptian person.
He explained that the exhibition comes in light of important national celebrations, including the governorate’s National Day and the anniversary of the victories of the glorious October War, and such exhibitions are keen on the idea of raising awareness of reading and making books available to all Egyptian people in all governorates of the republic at reasonable prices.
He added that the Ministry of Culture is keen to be present in the governorates through book fairs and cultural events held on its side, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture. At the exhibition, the Authority presents a wide range of its diverse publications from various branches of knowledge, including publications of the Taha Hussein Project, publications of the Minds series, as well as publications of the Egyptian History series, heritage and general publishing series, the collection of Egyptian poetry, publications of the Twentieth Century Writers series, the Arab Creativity series, and others. Of publications, it also offers a wide range of publications at nominal prices starting from one pound up to 20 pounds.
