The Governor of Aswan receives the South Korean Ambassador to discuss areas of joint cooperation
Major General Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, received in his office today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the friendly Republic of South Korea, Kim Young-hyun, and his accompanying delegation, where the meeting discussed many areas of joint bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, which was attended by Engineer Dina Ibrahim, Director of the International Cooperation Unit, Ismail Kamal welcomed the Korean ambassador and his companions to enjoy the many features of Aswan as it is one of the most important parks and tourist destinations, in addition to its enjoyment of warm, moderate weather and diversity in tourist patterns.
He pointed out that there will be continuous communication with the Korean side to take serious steps to increase Korean tourism traffic, especially in light of the fruitful and constructive Egyptian-Korean relations between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol.
While Kim Young-hyun expressed his great happiness for visiting Aswan and the warm reception from the governor, and his admiration for the beauty of nature and eternal monuments, he stressed that the Korean Language Department at Aswan University represents an important bridge of communication, and coordination will be made to return KOICA volunteers, with the possibility of returning taekwondo volunteers from KOICA to the Taekwondo Association in Aswan. Receiving new volunteers in other fields, as well as requesting cooperation in implementing future projects in this direction in partnership with UN Women to support Arrivals are in Aswan and are planning a separate trip for initial consultations.
He added that there will be cooperation on establishing EDCF projects related to Aswan, such as the project to modernize railway signals between Luxor and the High Dam and solid waste treatment projects, as well as studying the holding of cultural events, and reviving cooperation between Aswan Governorate and Korean local governments (such as Gwangju).
At the end of the meeting, the Governor of Aswan and the South Korean Ambassador exchanged shields as an expression of the strength of Egyptian-Korean relations.
