The Golden Globes 2025 nominations are in and some of your faves cleaned up but like always, there were some surprising snubs!
Musical phenomenon flick Wicked cast its spell on the Globes and picked up four awards, including for its stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
As for the flick’s almighty director, Jon M. Chu, he sadly was not recognised in the Best Director category which is bonkers to me! It reminds me of when Barbie received a bunch of nominations at the 2024 Oscars but its director Greta Gerwig was sadly snubbed.
Surreal narco-thriller Emilia Pérez led the Golden Globes nominations this year with a total of 10 noms, which is a big fat FUCK YOU to the actor who criticised Selena Gomez‘s lack of Spanish.
ICYMI: just days ago, actor Eugenio Derbez said Selena’s performance was “indefensible”, to which Gomez replied: “I understand where you are coming from. I’m sorry I did the best I could with the time I was given,” Gomez wrote. “Doesn’t take away from how much work and heart I put into this movie.”

He later apologised on TikTok, but all these nominations — including a nom recognising Gomez personally as Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture — are just the cherry on top.
Historial flick The Brutalist (starring Adrien Brody and Taylor Swift‘s ex Joe Alwyn) came in second with seven nominations, while drama Conclave (starring Ralph Fiennes AKA Voldemort and ultimate zaddy Stanley Tucci) came third with six noms.
