Here, customers are on the lookout for all the good deals for their loved ones and to treat themselves. 44% of French people plan to take advantage of offers from Black Friday. “The Christmas period represents, with the month of December, 10% of our turnover, so the stakes are high”explains Pierre Prigent, operations director of the Marques Avenue group.
Thirty-nine percent of French people will spend between 101 and 300 euros on Christmas gifts. To attract them, more and more brands are focusing on second-hand shopping. Second hand is a more economical and ecological option than new. In total, 26% of French people are thinking of buying second-hand for Christmas, sometimes at clearance sales. Spending is increasingly anticipated: one in five French people plan to make their purchases in several installments before the holidays.
