The Foreign Minister meets with the heads of the Egyptian coalition implementing the Julius Dam project in Tanzania
Dr. received Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Engineer Ahmed Al-Assar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Contractors Company, Engineer Ahmed Al-Suwaidi, CEO of El-Sewedy Electric Company, and Major General Mahmoud Nassar, Head of the Central Development Agency at the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, today, Tuesday, to follow up on the progress of work in The Julius Nyerere Dam project in Tanzania, which is implemented by an Egyptian consortium, brings together two companies "Arab Contractors" And “Elsewedy Electric” And the Ministry of Housing, as well as discussing ways to encourage and expand the scope of Egyptian companies’ work in Africa, within the framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration’s keenness to encourage and enhance the role of Egyptian companies in Africa, and to complement the state’s efforts to support major projects on the continent.
Dr. emphasized . During the meeting, Badr Abdel Ati stressed the importance of the Julius Nyerere Dam project as one of the major strategic projects in Tanzania, which contributes to achieving sustainable development in the East African region. The minister explained that the Egyptian government is closely following the implementation of the project, which is a distinguished model of cooperation between Egypt and the countries of the continent, and reflects the ability of Egyptian companies to implement huge projects abroad.
He also added The project represents an important step towards strengthening Egypt’s role in developing infrastructure in Africa, and reflects the state’s efforts to advance African cooperation and achieve continental integration, stressing that the Egyptian consortium is working to complete it according to the highest engineering standards, and that there is noticeable progress in the implementation stages of the project, which It will contribute to meeting Tanzania’s needs for electrical energy, and support the country’s economic development efforts in general.
The meeting also reviewed the challenges facing Egyptian companies in Africa, as Dr. pointed out. Badr Abdel Aty stressed the importance of the role of the private sector in advancing development on the African continent, stressing that the Egyptian government is working hard to provide the necessary support to the Egyptian business sector by facilitating procedures and enhancing cooperation with African countries in various fields.
The minister added that Africa represents a promising market in many sectors, which requires greater coordination and cooperation between the government and the private sector to achieve mutual benefit. Minister Abdel Aty also stressed the importance of adopting comprehensive strategies to support Egyptian companies in Africa, in line with Egypt’s vision to achieve sustainable development on the continent level.
