The new building at Borg El Arab Airport is the first of its kind in Africa, as it was designed to be a "green airport" According to the highest standards of environmental sustainability; Which contributes to reducing carbon emissions and achieving efficiency in the use of energy and water.
The new building was designed with an area of 40 thousand square meters and accommodates 4.8 million passengers annually. Which raises the total capacity of the airport to 6 million passengers annually. The building relies on environmentally friendly technologies, where energy is generated from solar panels, and the use of energy-saving air conditioning systems using the VRV system. Which reduces carbon emissions and ensures an upscale experience for travelers.
The company’s president praised the efforts of the work teams that are making every effort to ensure a smooth and orderly transition, noting that this project represents a qualitative leap. In improving the services provided to travelers and supports sustainability in the sector, adding that this development is part of the Egyptian Airports Company’s vision to provide a more sustainable environment; In line with the latest global trends in the aviation sector.
