Arab Defense Website November 21, 2024: A new air defense system, likely to be a BARAK MX, appeared at a new Moroccan air base that has come under the spotlight in circles interested in military affairs locally and internationally, especially with its connection to the receipt of the Chinese air defense system. FD-2000BIt is an export version of the Chinese HQ-9B air defense system, which is considered one of the advanced systems in confronting air threats.
According to sources, this base is not only an operational location for new air defense systems, but also performs an educational and training role, as Moroccan crews are trained to operate and maintain these modern systems.
It is worth noting that Morocco received the advanced “Barak MX” air defense systems, capable of shooting down aircraft and missiles at a range of 150 kilometers, last year.
