The Egyptian experience to combat breast cancer at the International Health Conference in Africa in Rwanda

The Ministry of Health and Population, represented by Dr. Hisham Al -Ghazali, Chairman of the Scientific Committee for the Presidential Initiative to support women’s health, participated in the meeting of the African Breast Cancer Council held on the sidelines of the International Health Conference in Africa, in the state of Rwanda, which aims to exchange experiences and experiences on developing health care systems for breast cancer on the African continent, as well as doubling efforts to reduce the incidence of breast cancer in Africa through the adoption of Effective health policies and the development of medical and technological infrastructure. And all the authorities entrusted with enhancing health care systems throughout the continent, and activating the initiatives that give priority to women’s health. Breast cancer with early detection procedures and intensification of awareness programs, through the presidential initiative to support women’s health, where the Egyptian experience and the martyrdom of the initiative and the mechanisms of application were explained in overcoming the difficulties facing African countries to eliminate breast cancer, as well as explain their experience in training and qualifying human cadres, in line with the Egyptian political will to support African countries.

For the presidential initiative for women’s health, and the representative of Egypt in the African Council, to the most prominent axes of the session, where the Egyptian National Strategy to Combat Breast Cancer has been presented, noting that the total number of women who are frequented by examination and awareness reached 57.1 million women from its launch in July 2019 until the end of February 2025 and the discovery of 31 thousand and 418 cases of breast cancer, and the conduct of 416 thousand and 667 rays Mammogram, since the launch of the initiative, in addition to withdrawing 47 thousand and 947 tumors for analysis, through 23 qualified and accredited Pathology laboratories in addition to providing training services for medical teams (doctors, nursing, radiologists, and Pathologists) who numbered 30 thousand and 5 trainees. Highlight the success of the presidential initiative for women’s health & quot; Which achieved the results of the superiority of global performance indicators, and succeeded in improving health care, with compatibility with the global breast cancer initiative and Egypt’s vision 2030. & nbsp;

stressed that the initiative is an example to be followed as the effectiveness of the role of political will, community participation, and continuous economic evaluation as major factors in achieving cost effective results, and the initiative showed success in overcoming all Challenges, which makes it an applicable model in many African countries that share the same challenges.
