The Egyptian Drug Authority seized an unlicensed place for manufacturing adulterated nutritional supplements in Menoufia

 

The Egyptian Medicines Authority, in cooperation with the General Administration of Supply Investigations, was able to seize an unlicensed place for manufacturing, packing, and packaging adulterated and counterfeit nutritional supplements in Sadat City, Menoufia Governorate, and it did not meet health requirements or good manufacturing standards.   For the purpose of promoting it in drug stores and pharmacies for financial profit.

A complete production line was set up for manufacturing with four machines, approximately 2,955 tons of raw materials of various types used in manufacturing, and 700 thousand tablets and sachets of various types of nutritional supplements. A quantity of plastic containers and empty cartons prepared for packaging, and quantities of the final product prepared for marketing in stores and pharmacies.

And were seized. The seized items were estimated at a value of 10 million Egyptian pounds, and a report on the incident was drawn up and presented to the competent prosecution to take legal measures.

The Egyptian Drug Authority calls on all pharmacists and citizens to contact it through various means of communication, to report violations related to pharmaceutical preparations or establishments. Through the hotline 15301 or the Authority’s official website.

This comes within the framework of the Egyptian Medicine Authority’s efforts to control the drug market and preserve On the quality, effectiveness and safety of pharmaceutical preparations and medical supplies circulated in pharmaceutical institutions, as well as monitoring storage and circulation places and raiding unlicensed places.
