The Egyptian Ambassador to Ramallah discusses with the Minister of Local Government Palestine’s participation in the World Urban Forum
Ambassador Ihab Soliman, Egyptian Ambassador to Ramallah, discussed with Dr. Sami Hijjawi, Palestinian Minister of Local Government, the arrangements for the Palestinian delegation’s participation in the activities of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), which Cairo will host during the period from 4-8 of next November.
The Egyptian ambassador reviewed the Egyptian preparations for this important forum, which is being organized for the first time in Egypt, reviewing the large numbers of countries and people who have registered to participate in its activities.
The issues that will be raised during the forum’s activities were also discussed, in light of the side’s keenness. Palestinians are keen to actively participate in learning about experiences related to urban planning, especially after the repercussions of the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip and the unprecedented destruction it caused, in addition to the opportunity the forum will provide to participate in a number of meetings with representatives of countries, international bodies and institutions.
On the other hand, Ambassador Ihab Soliman stressed that Egypt will continue to provide its support to the Palestinian people at all levels, based on its historical commitment to stand by the Palestinians until their right to establish an independent Palestinian state is achieved on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the implementation of all decisions of legitimacy. Relevant international issues.In turn, the Palestinian Minister of Local Government reviewed the extent of the challenges facing municipalities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the role of the Ministry of Local Government and its institutions in contributing to confronting these worsening problems.
He praised Hijjawi praised the historical relations between the two brotherly countries, thanking Egypt for the great efforts it has undertaken since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip by providing all forms of support in various fields.
