The Egyptian Ambassador to Australia chairs the Council of Ambassadors of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries
Ambassador Hani Nagy, Egypt’s ambassador to Australia, who chairs the current session of the Council of Ambassadors of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Canberra, chaired, today, Tuesday, the general meeting of the group’s Council of Ambassadors at the headquarters of the Egyptian Embassy in Canberra.

The meeting witnessed expanded participation from members of the group, in the presence of 15 ambassadors and heads of a diplomatic mission, in addition to 8 acting charge d’affaires and a number of diplomats from the participating embassies.
< p>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs stated – today, Tuesday – that the meeting discussed a number of topics of common interest to Council members, most notably developments in the current situation in the Middle East region.
The participants also touched on ways to enhance cooperation and coordination on files related to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Council of Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Australia, and to develop and strengthen the role of the group with the Australian government at the federal level, as well as at the level of universities and think tanks.
