This comes within the framework of ongoing cooperation between Egypt and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, to strengthen the existing partnership and support the development and structural reform efforts pursued by the Egyptian government. The renewal of the country program comes as an affirmation of the commitment of both parties to achieving the objectives of the program, which aims to enhance the state’s capabilities in formulating and implementing structural reforms in accordance with international standards, which contributes to improving the business and investment environment and enhancing confidence among local and international investors.
 
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat explained that Egypt’s country program represents an integrated framework for cooperation over a period of three years, focusing on several strategic axes that are in line with the state’s priorities, and cooperation efforts have coincided with the ongoing structural reforms that Egypt is currently implementing in Three main axes that will enhance macroeconomic stability, improve the business environment, and support the green transformation. Between what is being implemented in cooperation with the organization and national priorities. She added that the themes of the country program are integrated with the intensified efforts with development partners to implement policies and procedures that will support structural reform efforts and enhance the competitiveness of the economy, as the renewal of the memorandum of understanding contributes to completing structural reform efforts, and ensures the implementation of all recommendations and projects planned to support reforms in these pivotal areas.
She continued that 20 national entities participate in the program’s activities and benefit from its projects, and Egypt’s country program with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development includes 35 projects according to five basic axes, represented by the axis: The first is related to comprehensive and sustainable economic growth, the second is innovation and digital transformation, the third is related to governance and anti-corruption, the fourth is related to enhancing statistics, in addition to the fifth axis is related to sustainable development.
Since the signing of the program, tangible results have been achieved, such as the launch of Egypt’s first economic report, which included many recommendations and measures being followed up on implementation with national authorities to support macroeconomic stability, increase the efficiency of macroeconomic policies, increase private sector participation in the economy, create decent job opportunities, and support transformation. Green.
The artificial intelligence review report was also launched, and the recommendations contained therein were based on the formulation of the second phase of the national strategy for artificial intelligence. In addition, Egypt has been included in the organization’s digital transformation tools, supporting the development of evidence-based policies that advance the digital transformation process. Furthermore, the Green Growth Policy Review Report was launched to guide efforts towards an environmentally and socially sustainable economy. Work is currently continuing to complete a group of important projects, such as the report on enhancing productivity in the industrial sector, reviewing higher education and innovation policies, and including Egypt in the value-added trade database. The first technical report will also be launched to review business dynamics during the first half of 2025, to enhance the path of ongoing reforms and support economic development.
The renewal of the memorandum of understanding comes to ensure the continuity of this fruitful cooperation. between Egypt and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which enhances the process of reform and sustainable development, and pushes towards achieving national goals according to an integrated vision in line with international best practices.
