Canned goods, diapers, powdered milk and some sweets… This Saturday, November 23 in Templeuve (North), anything that can be preserved is welcome. The Food Bank organizes its national collection for 40 years, everywhere in France. Requests are constantly increasing: 30% more in five years. “We regularly see middle-class people now. says Raymond Hayek, responsible for collection in the Alpes-Maritimes.
Faced with needs, generosity cannot be denied. In Dijon (Côte-d’Or), the stand is full. “Not everyone can eat their fill, first of all it’s unacceptable. (…) So we share with others“, confides a donor. Collection from the general public represents 10% of the Food Bank’s supply. The rest is provided by farmers, supermarkets and industry.
