SPOILER ALERT: This post contains details on The Bachelor‘s Season 29 finale.
Grant Ellis ends his search for love on The Bachelor as Season 29 wraps up, and he must deliver his final rose to one of the finalists.
Juliana Pasquarosa and Litia Garr were the final two ladies hoping to get Grant’s rose, have him drop to one knee, and pop the question.
Host Jesse Palmer started the show teasing how difficult it was for Grant to make that decision.
“There has never been a bachelor who has been more torn over the two final women at the end,” Palmer said. “This is going to be an emotional and a historic conclusion that you truly will not see coming.”
What did Grant’s parents think of Latia?
When Grant takes Latia to see his parents, he says that he can picture her as his wife. Grant notes that this meeting was significant as it was the first time the family gathered after his parents’ divorce.
“Latia is loving, patient, kind… Obviously, she’s beautiful, and she’s ready. I think my family is going to love Latia,” Grant says.
Renee had a one-on-one with Latia and had positive things to say about her.
“Grant’s had a hard past, but I think with Latia, they’ll be able to get through some hard places when they get there,” Grant’s mom says. “For me, that was important. Latia is very humble and she’s genuine. And she loves Grant, you can see it. I would be very happy with Latia, she would be a great daughter-in-law.”

Latia also spent some time with Grant’s father, Robert, where he told her that family meant a lot to him and was glad she was on the same page as him.
“My family went through a time where it was kind of turbulent with us. Grant saw what I did, but he knows better. And now, he has his own family to forge,” Robert said, adding that if Grant and Latia got married, they would “fight” for their marriage.
One of Grant’s most significant issues with a future with Latia is that she wants to have children right away while he wants to wait and make some memories together by traveling first.

What did Grant’s parents think of Juliana?
When Juliana arrives to meet Grant’s parents, he says he has “strong feelings for her, but there is a slight fear” if she’s ready to get engaged and take that next step.
Grant’s mom’s first impression of Juliana was that she had “a lot of positive energy” and brought “peace to his life.”
Juliana expressed her fears of not having said “I love you” to each other, and Grant’s mom asked how she knew if she would ever get there.
“An engagement means forever to me. Love means forever to me. He is truly somebody that I can see myself being in love with and spending the rest of eternity with,” Juliana says.
Following their conversation, Grant’s mom said, “I loved Juliana. I think she’s a sweetheart. She’s kind, she’s compassionate, she’s a protector, [and] she’s a warm-loving person. But as your mom, this is about you and your heart. So if she doesn’t tell you she loves you, I am asking you to walk away from that.”
Grant’s dad noted that Juliana would be a good option because he has been able to open up to her and not be as guarded as he has been.
After spending time with his parents, Juliana finally told Grant that she loved him for the first time.

Who did Grant choose in The Bachelor’s Season 29 finale?
Grant continues to struggle to decide who to choose. Grant’s father shows up to help him talk things out and tells him to follow his heart, adding, “You deserve to be happy, and that’s all that matters. I know you’re going to make the right decision.”
Host Jesse Palmer reminded viewers that in all of Bachelor history, the decision had never come down to the wire as Grant continued to lack clarity on who he wanted to choose.
Latia was the first to arrive, and although she was excited and expressed her desire to start a family with Grant, he ultimately told her she wasn’t his person.
“Latia, I love you very much, and I want to give you everything that you deserve, but I’m not your person,” Grant told her. “I’m sorry to have gotten to this point. My emotional connection is stronger with someone else.”
Latia told Grant she was “disappointed” in him and added, “You’re different than I thought.”
On the car ride home, a crying, confused, and hurt Latia says, “I hope I can find someone that will love me like that forever. Not today, though.”
Juliana finally shows up at the proposal site, and Grant says why he chose her.
“In my heart, Juliana makes me happy,” he says. “What I see in Juliana is a woman of strong character, a woman that is compassionate and caring. A woman that wants love. I love Juliana very much and I see a forever love between us. And that’s why I wanna be with her.”
Grant proposes to Juliana by giving her his final rose and the ring.
