An alleged fight between parents at a Dallas cheerleading competition reportedly sparked a massive stampede.

Police cars were seen hurrying to the scene as a mass of people in sparkly uniforms and terrified parents can be seen escaping a convention center where the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) All-Star National Championship is being held on Saturday.

After mass chaos at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, many took to social media believing there was an active shooter.

However, police have since confirmed to the local outlet WFAA that there was no active shooter and no shots were fired.

The Dallas Police Department did not immediately respond to the DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

Up to 30,000 cheerleaders and their parents were in town for the event.

While social media flooded with tweets worried about the potential and ultimately false reports of an active shooter, those attending were also unaware if the threat was real.

One X user called the resulting mayhem the ‘scariest experience of my life.’

‘I hope everyone and their family and friends are okay,’ they added, before writing, ‘Oh my God.’
