Tennis glamour girl Eugenie Bouchard reveals the brutal results of cupping treatment – just days after celebrating her birthday with friends in New York

Tennis star Eugenie Bouchard has revealed how brutal cupping treatment can be in an Instagram post to her fans.
Bouchard shot to fame after making the Wimbledon final in 2014, and she made the top 10 of Forbes’ World’s Highest-Paid Female Athletes list in 2017 and 2018.
After struggling with form and injuries, Bouchard has rarely featured at the highest level in recent years, but she is still playing elite sport having taken up Pickleball, which combines elements of tennis, table tennis and badminton.
Therefore, she keeps herself in optimal condition and this has led to cupping becoming part of her fitness regime.
But that means pushing through the pain barrier, with Bouchard taking to Instagram to show huge cupping marks all over her arms and shoulders on Monday, as she captioned the photo ‘cupping is no joke’.
Cupping is an ancient healing therapy that involves putting heated cups on the skin to ease pain and inflammation, and increase blood flow.

It has been used by a number of high-profile athletes including UFC icon Conor McGregor and Olympic legend Michael Phelps.
It is viewed as low risk, but can cause those that use it to experience bruising and muscle soreness.
It appears that Bouchard may have developed these symptoms, having started the week by putting her body through the brutal treatment.
It was a far cry from how she spent last week when she celebrated her birthday with friends in New York.
Bouchard turned 31 on February 25 and pulled out all the stops for the special occasion.
The Canadian star hit the town in a glamorous red dress and a sparkling pair of heels as she tucked into caviar and cake in the ‘Big Apple’.
