The Egyptian Tax Experts Association confirmed that it supports the proposal of the Minister of Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, to exempt enrichment groups in the baccalaureate system from taxes in order to improve the financial conditions of teachers, correct the course of the educational process, and combat private lessons.

The president of the association, Ashraf Abdel Ghani, said – in a statement today – that one of the main goals of the new baccalaureate system is to eliminate private lessons that drain 247 billion pounds annually from families’ pockets. Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics estimates. For teachers, while the centers deduct 30 to 40% of the revenue for their benefit.

He pointed out The spread of private lessons and educational centers is due to the high density within the classroom, which limits communication between teachers and students, in addition to the small number of teachers, as 30,000 teachers retire annually and are not fully compensated, as well as the weak salaries of teachers, which prompts them to resort to private lessons.&nbsp

He stressed that combating private lessons requires improving the quality of education by increasing the number of teachers, improving their salaries, and reducing the density in classes, in addition to exempting reinforcement groups from Taxes.
