Sydney Sweeney Claps Back At Body Shamers In Juicy IG Post

Sydney Sweeney has delivered an absolute smackdown to body shamers who posted awful comments about her body on social media and to that I say, fkn get ’em, baby!!!!

Last week, paparazzi pictures of Sydney hanging out at her luxurious Florida mansion went viral. In the pics, Sydney is seen wearing a purple bikini and sunnies as she lounges around the pool. She’s relaxed and unposed. So, you know, how you’d normally look if you were hanging around the pool at your own goddamn house.

However, it wasn’t long before the pap pics made headlines, and Sydney’s body became the focus of a heap of discussion.

Sadly for Sydney and women everywhere, a lot of the discourse was negative with anonymous trolls tearing down her appearance and fat-shaming the Anyone But You actor for the way she looked in comment sections all over the internet.

I think it’s fair to say that regardless of what someone’s body looks like, that’s absolutely fucked up behaviour. If you do want to see the pics (where she objectively looks hot), you can find them HERE.

Unfortunately, the 27-year-old actor isn’t a stranger to shitty comments about her appearance but this time, she wasn’t going to take it lying down. She took to Instagram and posted a video featuring screenshots of the body-shaming comments left by her haters.

“She knocked up? Stung by a nest of wasps? Dive into a swimming pool full of doughnuts and chips? Good grief man!” wrote an IG user by the name @jetboyjohnson who I am willing to bet has halitosis.

“Without artifice (makeup, filter and Photoshop) she is really ugly,” wrote a user named @valou, who I’m sure feels really smart using the word “artifice”.

BUT THEN after the slideshow of hateful comments, Sydney hit back with a series of images and pics of her in the gym, working hard and looking strong as hell to prepare for her upcoming role as former American professional boxer Christy Martin.

You can check it out below.

Sydney’s clapback has been applauded by fans and celebrities alike.

“It’s always wild to see people publicly out-themselves as pieces of shit with comments like that. You look incredible and your dedication to your project is very inspiring,” wrote Lili Reinhart.

However, it was Kesha who summed it up best: “Strong baddie”.

If we’re talking about bodies that align with the current beauty standards, Sydney Sweeney fits the bill better than most.

She is arguably one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Despite having a body with idyllic proportions that I imagine is pasted on vision boards around the world, even Sydney isn’t immune from mean-spirited anonymous comments left by insecure people online.

That’s not because of the way she looks. It’s because of chauvinism and a cheeky pinch of misogyny.

As Sydney swaps out the heartthrob blonde roles for a powerful boxer — someone who audiences aren’t supposed to lust over or crush on — it seems that the masses feel threatened. Almost as if they’re thinking, “What is a woman’s worth if it isn’t for objectification anyway?”

Sydney’s clapback was a reminder to her 23 million followers that she sees what they’re writing.

It was a reminder that her body is more than just something to ogle at, but a powerful, strong vessel. It was a reminder that mean comments don’t just go into the void, they leave a digital footprint (and sometimes, an emotional impact). It was a reminder that even if you seem to fit the patriarchal ideals of what hetero men want, it will never, ever be enough.

However, at the end of the day, Miss Girl was simply relaxing by the pool in her lovely mansion, worth a cheeky $13 million USD ($20 million AUD).

You can judge her all you want, but she doesn’t care because Sydney Sweeney has never, ever been happier!!!!!
