Sydney Harbour Bridge crash: All lanes closed – causing traffic chaos

All lanes are closed in both directions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge while after a multiple vehicle crash on the deck of the bridge.

Emergency services were called to the bridge about 1.40pm today and found three cars and a bus had collided.

One man was confirmed dead at the scene while another was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

A rescue helicopter landed on the bridge shortly after 2pm.

NSW Ambulance paramedics are assessing a number of other patients.

Cars were brought to a stand still on the bridge as traffic slowly trickled into the one open lane travelling northbound.

Commuters have be warned to ‘avoid the area and use an alternative route if you can’.

‘The Sydney Harbour Tunnel remains open in both directions but traffic is heavy,’ Live Traffic NSW posted to X.

All lanes are closed in both directions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge while emergency services attend a multiple vehicle crash on the deck of the bridge.

More to come.
