Swailem Seltafi, Zimbabwean Minister of Water, confirms Egypt’s keenness to provide training and send technical experts to Zimbabwe
Dr. Hani Sweilem received Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Jongwe Masuka, Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Development of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
Sweilem expressed his happiness at this meeting, which confirms the The strength of bilateral relations between the two countries and the constant desire for effective communication and development of joint cooperation. He also expressed Egypt’s keenness to support the bonds of cooperation between African countries by creating common interests and achieving mutual benefit for all parties.
Swilem also stressed Egypt’s keenness to provide training and capacity building to prepare technical cadres in many areas related to water management and to send technical experts in the field of planning and improving water resources management and preparing water policy for the Republic of Zimbabwe, noting the importance of Zimbabwe benefiting from the training courses that It is provided by the African Training Center for Water and Climate Adaptation (PACWA), which was created to become an important platform for training technical personnel from sister African countries to raise and build capacities in climate-related fields.
And Sweilem noted. Due to the importance of Zimbabwe’s participation in the AWARe initiative, which aims primarily to support local communities in adapting to climate change and achieving sustainable development on the African continent.
For his part, the Zimbabwean Minister expressed his happiness with this meeting. Which confirms the strength of the relationship between both countries, praising the support provided by Egypt to the Republic of Zimbabwe in all fields, with the need to focus on benefiting from Egyptian expertise in the fields of water, adaptation to climate change, water management in rural areas, and early warning, especially with the Zimbabwean government’s plans towards expanding reliance on Ali groundwater wells that operate with renewable energy, in addition to his desire to learn about Egyptian expertise in the field of fish farms and maximize the use of water resources
