The Labor Directorate in Dakahlia Governorate organized a workshop in the field of occupational safety and health within the activities of the “Your Safety is Important to Us” initiative. To spread the culture of occupational safety and health, in coordination and cooperation between the Directorate of Labor, the Governorate General Office, the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, and the Civil Protection Department. The opening session was witnessed by Major General Tariq Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Adl, Deputy Governor of Dakahlia, coordinator of the Bedaya Initiative in the governorate, in the presence of 450 workers and owners of companies and factories within Governorate.
The workshop activities include presenting several topics, including: the necessity of adhering to occupational safety and health standards in establishments, factories and all interests as one of the most important pillars of protecting lives and property and preserving the state’s capabilities, and encouraging To spread the culture of self-employment among young people, not to wait for a government job, to benefit from the training programs offered by the Ministry of Labor, and to introduce occupational safety and health, its methods, emergency plans, the dangers of the work environment, entrepreneurship, types of fires and methods of combating them, and first aid.
This comes within the Directorate’s intensive activities in the field of spreading the culture of occupational safety and health in the work environment and the importance of educating workers in facilities in order to preserve their lives and protect them and those who frequent them from any potential dangers, as a new beginning for building the Egyptian human being. Ahmed Rajai, Undersecretary of the Dakahlia Labor Directorate, explained in his report to the Ministry that these seminars come in light of the implementation of the directives Minister of Labor, Muhammad Gibran, told the labor directorates in the governorates to intensify efforts and cooperate with all ministries and concerned parties to quickly achieve the goals of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building,” which was launched by Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, to improve the quality of life for all citizens in various parts of the Republic, and to provide government services in the fields of: education, health, culture, sports, and employment, in an integrated manner between the various participating parties, and to organize awareness seminars, under the slogan “Your safety is important to us,” in coordination with The private sector, in the areas of spreading the culture of “occupational safety and health”. To preserve the health of the worker, the safety of production tools, and to achieve a decent and healthy work environment.
The Undersecretary of the Directorate added that the chemist Ismail Al-Hindawi, former Dean of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and Dr. Ahmed attended the workshop. The Undersecretary of the Directorate indicated that the events witnessed a speech by the Governor of Dakahlia, during which he emphasized the topic of the workshop. The governor stressed the necessity of adhering to occupational safety and health standards in establishments, factories and all interests as one of the most important pillars of protecting lives and property, sending a message to the youth that “ There is no success story without a story of struggle behind it.
