All day long, staff at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport were hard at work clearing snow from the runways and de-icing the planes. The result for travelers: numerous delays and cancellations. In total, 10% of flights have been canceled, including 120 at Air France at this stage.
At Montparnasse station (Paris), this Thursday evening, it is difficult to make your way. In front of the notice boards, many trains have been late since mid-afternoon. “It’s about 45 minutes late. (…) We don’t know if we will be able to return in time”says a student waiting for her train to Rennes at the station. This evening, train delays of one or two hours on average were still expected.
In companies in the Paris region, the fear of not being able to go home and being stuck in the office due to lack of transport was real.
