Two of New York’s biggest cultural cornerstones have joined forces to ring in the new year. “Saturday Night Live” and Saks Fifth Avenue have partnered on a limited-edition apparel collection to celebrate the sketch comedy show’s 50th anniversary.
The lineup includes graphic tees and sweatshirts imprinted with some of the show’s most memorable sketches, like Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey on Weekend Update, to Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri in their Spirit Spartan cheerleading outfits. Other products include a limited-edition Le Labo Santal 26 candle and a denim jacket with “SNL” slogan patches.
“Partnering with Saks Fifth Avenue for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary is an incredible way to honor the cultural impact of the show over the past five decades,” Tom Broecker, producer and costume designer of “Saturday Night Live” said in a statement. “Fashion is paramount for us to bring our characters to life and resonate so strongly with our viewers.
