Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, met with Peng Jianhu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Yagntze Cruises Company of Chongqing, one of the major leading companies in the field of building, operating and managing river and sea cruise ships globally, to discuss ways of cooperation between the Ministry and the company and learn about the company’s future plans. During the meeting, the Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors reviewed the company’s future plans to work in the Nile tourism product in Egypt and its desire to establish and operate a number Of the floating Nile hotels in Egypt, pointing to the expertise that the People’s Republic of China possesses in the field of constructing, manufacturing and designing luxury river and sea cruise ships (Cruise Ships) and their willingness to transfer their expertise to the Egyptian side.
< p>For his part, the Minister welcomed the proposals, noting the Ministry’s readiness to provide all means of support to the company and its projects and to facilitate obtaining the necessary licenses to begin implementing these projects as soon as possible, which will contribute to increasing the number of hotel rooms, developing the Nile tourism product, and increasing tourist traffic coming from China to Egypt, stressing the importance of the close historical strategic relations between Egypt and China, which are characterized by strength and distinction.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors invited the Minister to attend the Cruise Summit. And the Nile Cruise, which will be organized at the end of this year, in the city of Chung Chang in the People’s Republic of China, where companies interested in the field of river and sea cruise ships will participate, as well as Egyptian tourism companies working in the field of Nile cruises will be invited to participate in this summit.
